(Senior) Accounting Manager

Our mission for you
Our mission for you: Build the accounting foundation of a hypergrowth energy-tech scale-up from the ground up. Your work will ensure audit readiness, enable our Series B fundraising, and create the financial infrastructure that supports our ambitious growth journey. You'll own end-to-end accounting operations, transition us from external to in-house accounting, and build scalable processes that grow with us.

The challenge: This isn't about maintaining existing processes — it's about creating them. You'll establish scalable accounting infrastructure while navigating complex energy market transactions, multi-stakeholder structures, and regulatory requirements. It's fast-paced, hands-on, and requires both precision and pragmatism.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Build Audit-Ready Accounting Infrastructure


  • Own monthly and annual financial close under HGB — ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Prepare financial statements independently and coordinate tax compliance with external advisors
  • Navigate complex energy market transactions and deliver clean audits
Strategic Finance Projects

  • You're hands-on and strategic — you build the foundation, then help scale & expand into new markets
  • Build our in-house accounting function from scratch — transition key processes from external providers to internal operations
  • Be part of big finance IT transformations such as ERP & other finance tools
Bridge Accounting & Business Operations

  • Serve as primary contact for auditors, external bookkeeping, and tax advisors
  • Translate complex accounting topics into clear business language for Founders and leadership
  • Partner with RevOps, Sales, and Tech teams to ensure financial data integrity
Build & Lead Your Team

  • Lead your first team member within 3 months
  • Define team structure, roles, and create a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
Who we are looking for
Must-haves:

  • 5–7 years accounting experience in Big Four (Audit/Consulting) and/or scale-ups — you've mastered HGB financial statements, managed full-cycle close, and coordinated annual audits. Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK), CPA, ACCA, or similar certifications are a big plus
  • DATEV expert (REWE & DUO); Modern ERP experience is a plus
  • Tech-forward mindset: Excel power user with curiosity for workflow automation and AI tools (ChatGPT, Langdock, n8n, Zapier)
  • Business partner mindset: You make accounting complexity simple for non-finance stakeholders
  • Leadership-ready: Excited to lead your first team member and grow into a leadership role
  • Business fluent in English; German business level or willingness to reach it quickly (we support you with language training)
Nice-to-haves:

  • Energy, utilities, or regulated industries experience
  • IFRS exposure or international accounting knowledge
  • Experience transitioning accounting from external to in-house
  • Coding skills: VBA, Python, or SQL
